Focus on Geometry in your Dressage Tests

Many events are won with the dressage score. You need to prepare and go for the lowest score possible by riding an accurate test. Work at home on your geometry so that it becomes automatic. It is very important to know how many strides your horse has in each gait for the required movements. Thus if you are cantering a 20 meter circle at E or B, you count each half of the circle to determine if you are even–each half should have the same number of strides. Prepare all of your movements before the letter so that you perform the transition or figure at the correct place. These are simple things to work on. Riding an accurate test will increase your scores dramatically.
